Today was a relaxing day. We woke up a bit later than usual and had breakfast. Gunjur Youths for Health visited us at the Gunjur Project Association community hub for sessions about breast checking, sexual health and emergency first response. We gave all the female participants a set of reusable sanitary pads and we presented the group with medical resources for them to use during their work in the community and their studies. After the sessions it was time for them to go home. It was really enjoyable and the group was very knowledgeable.

We then had lunch, which was yummy – the food here is so tasty! After lunch everyone relaxed, the sun loungers were full! Teams then went to practice for the talent show later, a lot of effort was put into the practice!
Some of the team members had a cooking lesson with the Gunjur Project Lodge catering team – they learnt to cook chicken yassa, which they really enjoyed.

Early evening we went to a bar in Kartong, which is on the border between The Gambia and Senegal. We enjoyed beers, which were HUGE! Along side a view of the river Allahein.

For tea we had a BBQ with the other group (from Belgium) who were also staying. Then it was time for our group sketches, which were a mix of comedy, a news show, a rendition of the Lion King and beautiful singing. It was so fun.
Lots of love, Mia and Issy xx
