Challenging Year

As the sun sets on 2020, we reflect on a challenging year! Our #TeamGambia2021 team had all their planned face to face team meetings cancelled and instead we’ve tried to get to know each other and prepare our projects on Zoom. Unfortunately Girlguiding travel rules do not currently allow any residential events to take place before at least June next year, so we have had to postpone our April...

This weekend should have been our full residential team meeting - Covid19 put a stop to that, so we had to Zoom instead! We fine tuned our 3 main sessions, as well as playing a few team games. #TeamGambia may be temporarily grounded, but we're still busy preparing!

First Meeting for TeamGambia2021

Our first team briefing meeting was due to take place today (Sunday 29th March 2020), however, due to Covid-19 it was not possible to take place as planned. Out of our 19 team members, only 5...

Resources To Set Sail

They also made a start on packing the 44 microscopes which were donated by LJMU. The packing will be completed next weekend with Chris joining to add an extra pair of hands. Thanks to Sam at the...

Guide Go For Its

Do any Guide leaders have Guide ‘Go For It’ resource packs which are no longer required for your unit now that the new programme is in place? If so, we would love to be have them to share with Guide units in The Gambia - they currently have little or no resources so these would make them SO happy!! We are doing a shipment in a few weeks so we would like to have any by the end of January. We...

Donation of Microscopes

We have had 44 microscopes donated to us by Liverpool John Moores University. Wow! Now we need to find the money to ship them to The Gambia on a container. The Gunjur Project already has a number of schools identified to receive some of this important equipment and we will also be distributing some via a charity who specialises in providing science equipment for schools. Anything you can donate...
